What it does
ip.uk.app shows the IP address your request arrives from. Browsers get a page with network details. Scripts and command‑line tools get plain text or JSON, so you can use it in shell scripts, router jobs and dynamic DNS clients.
Where the network details come from
The network owner, country and address block come from the regional internet registries (RIPE NCC, ARIN, APNIC, LACNIC and AFRINIC) through their public RDAP services. The host name comes from reverse DNS. The country is where the address block is registered, which is not necessarily where you are.
Privacy
- No accounts, no advertising and no third‑party tracking scripts.
- We don’t save the IP addresses we show to a database.
- Our web server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for a short time for security and troubleshooting.
- Requests are counted per IP address in memory for one minute to prevent abuse.
Fair use
curl ip.uk.app and /json are free for scripts. Please don’t poll more than once a minute. For dynamic DNS, uk.app names update automatically.
